Linlithgow Palace Trip

On Fair Friday it’s fair to say we all had a really good time, members really loved walking around the Castle ruins, everyone was enjoying the sunny weather and exploring all the various rooms in the palace, I got a bit lost and ended up looking for the dungeon but i ended up in the Kitchen which was the lowest part of the palace its well was complete with coins shimmering at the bottom. Later, some members sat outside and went for a walk around the Loch (I took my shoes and socks off on the grass) Beth Log rolled around on the grass as well, it was a lot of fun.

Members also had a look in the Church within the grounds where a wedding was due to take place the following day and we observed musicians practising traditional Scottish Violin, Cello & Piano. The stained glass window was amazing as well.

Later we went into the town centre and walked around the Museum a little, then along the road a bit there was a statue of a famous racing dog with an unfortunate name, after we went and sat at a cafe for a drink.

Thoughts of the day

What did you think of the trip?

Member James said: The palace was an absolutely fantastic place to visit. I can also say it was one of the best ruins I’ve ever been to and I’d definitely go back. I really liked the gothic architecture & climbing up to the top of the tower because the view was absolutely incredible

Linlithgow was a very nice place to visit. The Grass was hilly around the Loch – where I used to play when I was young in the 80’s. I have Fond memories of Linlithgow
